Choosing the right Lexus hitch
Match the generation first: a 2022 RX and a 2023 RX take different hitches. Choose a 1-1/4 inch receiver for a bike rack on a sedan and a 2 inch Class 3 for a trailer behind an RX, NX or GX, and stay under the tow rating in your owner's manual. What class hitch does a Lexus RX need?
A Class 3 with a 2 inch receiver, listed for every RX generation from 1999 to 2026. The RX L can also take a Class 4.
Is 4-flat wiring enough, or do I need a 7-way?
Every Lexus harness here is a 4-way flat, which runs the trailer lights and covers a utility trailer, small boat or tent trailer. A 7-way adds brake and charge circuits and is not listed for any Lexus.
Does a Lexus need a brake controller?
Only if the trailer has its own electric brakes. Each province sets a weight above which trailer brakes are required, and most trailers a GX or RX would pull sit under it.
Will Toyota 4Runner suspension fit a Lexus GX?
