A BackRack headache rack is a steel frame that mounts behind the cab of a pickup and keeps a shifting load out of the rear window, and this collection holds the frames and the parts that complete them. BackRack is a Canadian brand, and its system is two parts: a frame that spans the cab, in Original, Louvered, Half Louver, Trace and SRL lighted styles, and a vehicle-specific hardware installation kit that fastens it to your truck. Steel headache racks for pickup trucks, with the hardware to fit them
BackRack builds one frame to fit many trucks and puts the vehicle-specific part into the hardware kit, which is why the two are sold separately here. The Original frame is the open design most people picture when they search for a truck headache rack; the Louvered and Half Louver frames fill part or all of the window opening with angled slats; the Trace Rack adds wing assemblies and plates, listed for the 2019 to 2022 Silverado and Sierra 1500; and the SRL lighted frame, model SRL600, carries integrated lighting. Frames are steel. Because the rack sits where a tool box or a tonneau cover also wants to be, BackRack also makes the pieces that let them share the bed.

Headache rack frames

Tool box hardware kits and brackets
If a crossover tool box is in the bed, the standard kit will not clear it. Tool box hardware kits, such as the 2007 to 2019 Silverado and Sierra kit, and tool box brackets for the 10503, 10506 to 10509, 10311, 10517 and 10519 frames mount the rack behind the box. Boxes are in truck tool boxes.

Rails along the bed sides for the 2015 to 2025 F-150 8 foot bed, the 2014 to 2019 Silverado and Sierra 8 foot bed and the 2002 to 2024 Ram 6 foot 4 inch bed.
Tonneau cover adaptors and light brackets
Wide-top adaptors, such as the 2016 to 2023 Tacoma version, let a hard tonneau cover and a rack share the bed. Centre mount utility light brackets with a 16 inch by 7 inch base put a work light on top of the frame.

Choosing the right BackRack
Pick the frame by how much of the rear window you want covered: Original for an open sightline, Louvered or Half Louver for loose material, SRL when the rack has to carry lights. Then pick the hardware kit by year, model and bed length. If a crossover tool box is staying in the bed, order the tool box hardware kit and the brackets for your frame number instead, and if a hard tonneau is fitted, add the wide-top adaptor.
