Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches

0 products

Draw-Tite trailer hitches and towing hardware: Class 1 to Class 5 receiver hitches built to a specific year, make and model, Hide-A-Goose gooseneck hitch heads rated 20,000 to 30,000 lb, ball mounts, pintle hooks and receiver extensions. Draw-Tite is one of the Horizon Global towing brands alongside Tekonsha, and its receivers are engineered around the factory frame holes of each vehicle.

Fitment here runs heavier than the car-oriented brands: Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500, Silverado and Sierra HD, Sprinter vans and the Acura MDX all have listings. Absolute Autoguard ships Draw-Tite across Canada from Winnipeg, most parts in 7 to 10 business days.

Draw-Tite receiver hitches, gooseneck heads and pintle hooks

Draw-Tite has made bolt-on receiver hitches since the 1940s and is now part of the Horizon Global group with Tekonsha and Reese. The collection holds vehicle-specific receiver hitches across all five classes, Hide-A-Goose gooseneck heads, tri-ball and clevis ball mounts, pintle hooks from 10,000 to 20,000 lb, and receiver extensions and adapters. The vehicle tags skew toward pickups and vans: Ram 2500 and 3500, Silverado 1500 through 3500 HD and the Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500.

The class tells you the receiver opening: 1-1/4 inch for Class 1 and 2, 2 inch for Class 3 and 4, and 2 or 2-1/2 inch for Class 5. Ratings on the product pages are Draw-Tite's own, and the vehicle's tow rating in the owner manual always governs.

Class 1 to Class 5 receiver hitches

Custom-fit receivers that bolt to existing frame or bumper holes. Class 1 and 2 cover cars and small SUVs, Class 3 the Acura MDX, Honda and Toyota crossovers and half-ton trucks, and Class 4 and 5 (the Max-Frame and Ultra Frame families) the heavy-duty Ram, Silverado and Sierra. Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans have their own listings.

Hide-A-Goose gooseneck hitches

An underbed gooseneck with a 2-5/16 inch ball that lifts out when you are not towing, leaving a flat bed floor. Heads are listed at 20,000 lb (part numbers 9467 and 9485), 25,000 lb and 30,000 lb; the truck-specific underbed installation kit is a separate part.

Ball mounts

Class 3 clevis mounts with a 1-1/4 inch drop and 1 inch ball hole, and Class 4 tri-ball mounts that carry 1-7/8, 2 and 2-5/16 inch balls on one shank for a truck that pulls several trailers. All fit a 2 inch receiver.

Pintle hooks

Rated at 10,000, 16,000 and 20,000 lb for lunette-ring equipment, agricultural and municipal trailers. Pintle mounts and combination ball-and-pintle plates are in Buyers Products Towing.

Receiver extensions and adapters

An 8 inch Class 2 extension moves the ball mount clear of a rear-mounted spare or a swing-out bumper; check the reduced rating on the product page. Adapter sleeves step a 2 inch receiver down to 1-1/4 inch for a bike rack.

Why Draw-Tite

  • Heavy-duty coverage. The Ram 2500 and 3500, Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD and Sprinter 2500 and 3500 each carry multiple listings.
  • Gooseneck heads in three ratings. 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 lb Hide-A-Goose heads let you match the head to the trailer rather than buying more hitch than you need.
  • Pintle options. Three pintle hook ratings cover everything from a utility trailer to a heavy equipment tag trailer.
  • Vehicle-specific engineering. Each receiver is built for one platform and lists its model years on the product page.

Choosing the right Draw-Tite hitch

Match three things: the trailer's loaded weight and tongue weight to the hitch class, the hitch to your vehicle's year and body style, and the accessory to the receiver opening. For gooseneck towing, confirm bed length and whether a factory prep package is present, because the underbed kit differs by cab and box. For a pintle hook, match the rating to the lunette ring and check the mounting plate bolt pattern. If you are not sure what fits, contact us with your year, make, model and configuration.

Common questions

Which Draw-Tite hitch class do I need?

Pick the lowest class that covers your trailer's loaded weight and tongue weight, then confirm your vehicle's tow rating allows it. Class 3 with a 2 inch receiver is the most common fit for SUVs and half-ton trucks; heavy-duty pickups move to Class 4 or 5.

What is a Hide-A-Goose hitch?

It is Draw-Tite's underbed gooseneck system: a ball that mounts through the bed floor to a frame-mounted kit and can be removed to leave the bed flat. The heads come in 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 lb ratings and need the truck-specific installation kit.

Should I use a pintle hook or a ball?

Use a pintle hook when the trailer has a lunette ring, common on equipment, farm and municipal trailers. Use a ball for conventional couplers on boat, utility and camper trailers. A combination mount lets one truck do both.

Does Draw-Tite make a hitch for the Sprinter van?

Yes. The collection includes receiver hitches tagged for the Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500. Check the model years and body length on the product page, since the Sprinter has changed generations.
