B&W receiver hitches: Class 3 for crossovers, Class 5 for heavy-duty trucks

B&W makes its hitches in Humboldt, Kansas, and is better known for the Turnoverball underbed gooseneck and the Tow & Stow ball mount than for receivers. The receivers are what we stock here, in two groups. Class 3 hitches with a 2 inch receiver for crossovers: the Toyota Highlander and RAV4 (including the Hybrid), Subaru Crosstrek, Honda CR-V and CR-V Hybrid, Hyundai Palisade and Kia. Class 5 hitches with a 2 inch receiver for three-quarter and one-ton pickups: the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, and the Dodge and Ram 2500 and 3500, with a separate listing for the 2014-2026 Ram with the 8 foot box.

Every hitch here uses the 2 inch opening, so accessories are interchangeable across the collection and with 2 inch receivers from CURT and Draw-Tite.

Class 3 receiver hitches for crossovers and SUVs

Bolt-on 2 inch receivers for the 2020-2024 Highlander, 2019-2025 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid, 2018-2025 Crosstrek, 2017-2024 CR-V and CR-V Hybrid and 2020-2024 Hyundai and Kia. Class 3 is the right size for a small camper, a utility trailer or a bike rack; the vehicle's own tow rating sets the limit.

Class 5 receiver hitches for heavy-duty pickups

Frame-mounted 2 inch receivers for the 2017-2022 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, 2011-2019 Silverado and Sierra HD, 2003-2013 Dodge and Ram, and 2014-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 8 foot bed. Class 5 is the top receiver class, for equipment trailers and larger travel trailers.

Choosing the right B&W hitch

For a crossover, confirm the model years and whether you have the hybrid, then check the vehicle's tow rating; a Class 3 receiver can carry more than a RAV4 is allowed to pull. For a heavy-duty truck, confirm the year range and the box length, since the Ram 2500 and 3500 listing is specific to the 8 foot bed. A Turnoverball and a Class 5 receiver can share the same truck. Common questions

What is the difference between a Class 3 and a Class 5 hitch?

Class 3 is the mid-range receiver for SUVs, minivans and half-ton trucks; Class 5 is the heaviest receiver class, fitted to three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Both use a 2 inch opening here, so the difference is in structure and rating, not the accessories that fit.

Gooseneck or fifth wheel: which does a B&W hitch use?

The Turnoverball is a gooseneck hitch: a ball in the truck bed that a gooseneck trailer's coupler drops onto. A fifth wheel uses a kingpin and a jaw plate. B&W makes both, and its Companion fifth wheel hitch mounts into the Turnoverball socket.

Will a B&W hitch fit a RAV4 Hybrid or CR-V Hybrid?

Yes. The 2019-2025 RAV4 and 2017-2024 CR-V listings both name the Hybrid. Tow within Toyota's or Honda's rating for the hybrid, which can differ from the gas model.

Does the Class 5 hitch fit the 8 foot box Ram?

Yes, there is a dedicated 2014-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 listing for the 8 foot bed. Check that listing rather than the 2003-2013 Dodge and Ram part, which covers the earlier generation.
