Westcan Truck Racks, Rail Caps & Rear Racks
Aluminum truck racks, rail caps and rear racks
A Westcan truck rack is built from three parts: a cab guard at the front, rail caps along the box rails, and a rear rack at the tailgate. Buy them together for a full-length rack, or add pieces to what is already on the truck.
Westcan has built these in Chilliwack, BC since 2001. All aluminum, all mounted through the truck's existing stake pockets, with no drilling into the box.
What each part does
- Smooth rail caps cover and protect the box rails, and give the rack its mounting points along the length of the bed. Available for pickups from 1999 model years forward, in mill-finish aluminum or black powder coat. The satin mill finish is coating-free, so there is nothing to chip, flake or rust.
- Rear racks mount at the tailgate end and carry the back of a long load. Pair with a cab guard and rail caps for a complete system.
- Over-canopy racks carry loads above a canopy or service body, in full size and compact versions, with extenders and cross supports available.
- Ladder rack install kits adapt the system to vans and canopies.
- Crossover box install kits let a crossover tool box sit inside the rack rather than fighting it.
- Beacon mounts in single and dual, for adding a warning light to the rack.
Buying in the right order
If you are starting from nothing, buy the cab guard and its vehicle-specific install kit first — that is the piece that determines fitment. Add rail caps next, then the rear rack. If you are running a cab guard without rail caps, add a secondary hold down kit so the rack has a second anchor point and stays rigid.
Install kits are listed separately from the racks because the same rack fits several trucks with different kits. The fitment table on each product page names which kit yours needs.
Fitment
Coverage spans Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500, Ford F-150 and Super Duty, Ram 1500/2500/3500, Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, Nissan Titan and Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger and Maverick — in extra short, short, long and dually box lengths. Check the table on the product before ordering.
Common questions
Do I have to drill my truck box?
No. The system mounts through the factory stake pockets. Nothing is drilled, and the rack removes cleanly.
Can I buy just the rail caps?
Yes. Rail caps are sold on their own and are a common first purchase — they protect the rails whether or not you add the rest of the rack later.
What is the difference between mill finish and black?
Mill finish is bare satin aluminum with no coating, so there is nothing to chip or flake. Black is powder-coated over the same aluminum. Where both are offered, they appear as a Finish option on the product.
