Choosing the right Chrysler hitch
Check the generation first: a 2016 Town & Country and a 2017 Pacifica take different hitches. Choose a 1-1/4 inch receiver for a bike rack and a 2 inch Class 3 for a trailer, and stay under both the hitch rating and the tow rating in your owner's manual. What class hitch does a Chrysler Pacifica need?
A Class 3 with a 2 inch receiver for towing, listed for the 2017 to 2027 Pacifica, Pacifica Hybrid and Voyager. A Class 2 is also listed for bike racks.
Do I need a 4-flat or a 7-way on a Chrysler minivan?
A 4-flat for any trailer without electric brakes. A 7-way adds brake and charge circuits. If your van already has a factory 7-way, the Hopkins 7 to 4 adapter lets it pull a 4-flat trailer.
Does a Chrysler need a brake controller?
Only if the trailer has electric brakes. Every province sets a weight above which trailer brakes are mandatory, so a tent trailer is usually fine on a 4-flat while a larger camper needs a controller and 7-way wiring.
