Choosing the right Honda hitch
Match the generation exactly. The CR-V listings split at 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017 and each has its own hitch; the Odyssey splits at 2018 and the Civic at 2016. A 1-1/4 inch Class 1 or 2 receiver is right for a bike rack, cargo tray or small utility trailer on a Civic, Accord, Fit, HR-V or CR-V; a 2 inch Class 3 receiver on an Odyssey, Pilot, Passport or Ridgeline handles a tent trailer or small boat. Does the Honda Pilot need a 7-way harness?
Only if the trailer has electric brakes or needs a charge line. CURT lists 7-way custom wiring for the 2016-2025 Passport and Pilot; for lights alone, the 4-flat kit is enough.
Do you carry a tailgate lock for the Honda Ridgeline?
