CURT 56229 is a replacement 7-way USCAR socket for the vehicle side of the trailer wiring connection, supplied with 24" of color-coded, bonded wire. It replaces a damaged or missing USCAR vehicle harness and is spliced into the vehicle's wiring. It is sold as a splice-in part, not by vehicle.
The socket supplies tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, electric trailer brakes, battery power and a ground connection. The housing is rust-free black plastic. It can also add a USCAR-type 7-way socket to a vehicle that does not have one, for use with CURT 55415, 55515, 55664, 55774, 56415, 56515 or 57101.
